Menu For Hope 2008 - Help Feed Lesotho

Bid on a Lowelego Sweep Set & Other Prizes in this year's Charitable Raffle...

Menu for Hope is a yearly charitable Food Blogging event started by Chez Pim in 2004. Following on from last year, Pim has chosen to continue to support the school lunch program in Lesotho through the World Food Programme. This particular school lunch programme was chosen as our beneficiary because it not only provides the food that keeps the children alive, it helps them stay in school so that they learn the skills to feed themselves in the future. Lesotho is a model programme in local procurement - buying food locally to support local farmers and the local economy. Instead of shipping surplus corn across the ocean, the WFP is buying directly from local subsistent farmers who practice conservation farming methods in Lesotho to feed the children there. I hope you will join me in ensuring the success of this year's Menu for Hope.

Prize Code UW13: This year I am giving you double the chance to win - I am giving away not one, but two lowelego sweep sets as my prize this year. The two winners of this easy-to-set-up background set, the perfect starter kit for food bloggers who want to photograph tabletop shots of small items against a smooth background without a visible edge, will discover that the kit comes complete with a range of colored sheets that you can use straight out of the box. This prize can be shipped anywhere in the world, but please note that because of the size, it would most likely be shipped surface, not air.

How to Bid on a lowelego sweep, UW13:
1. Go to the donation site at Firstgiving to make a donation.
3. Each $10 you donate will give you one raffle entry. Please specify the prize code UW13 in the 'Personal Message' section in the donation form when confirming your donation and also specify how many tickets you wish to purchase. For example, a donation of $20 could be 2 tickets for UW13 so in that case please write 2xUW13.
4. If your company matches your charity donation, please check the box and fill in the appropriate information.
5. Please allow the administrators to see your email address so that they can contact you in case of a win. Your email address will not be shared with anyone.

    Hi,

    I was reading ur blog posts and found some of them to be very good.. u write well.. Why don't you popularize it more.. ur posts on ur blog ‘Becks & Posh’ took my particular attention as some of them are interesting topics of mine too;

    BTW I help out some ex-IIMA guys who with another batch mate run www.rambhai.com where you can post links to your most loved blog-posts. Rambhai was the chaiwala at IIMA and it is a site where users can themselves share links to blog posts etc and other can find and vote on them. The best make it to the homepage!

    This way you can reach out to rambhai readers some of whom could become your ardent fans.. who knows.. :)

    Cheers,

    Why is hunger an important issue to you and how did you first get involved with Menu for Hope? I'm working on a blog posting that will compile the thoughts of various Menu for Hope participants! Please email any ideas to blog[at]friendsofwfp.org.

    Thanks for your input, and for supporting the World Food Program!
