Your nephews and niece laughed a lot. Ben said cool but Dillon said it was sad because the horse got run over by a car!

Too cute! Your flattened pony reminds me a bit of Mr. Bill...any chance you know of him?

Darling and NOT what I expected from this well-known food blog.

I live in France and we used to have shoeboxes full of the toys we had collected from the kids' Kinder eggs...in fact we probably still have the shoeboxes somewhere!

Beccy - tell him it wasn't a car - it was the back of my hand. I can't believe I haven't done party trick for them - next time make sure we have some foil earpped sweets when I am around.

    thanks mum

anne - I have never heard of Mr Bill

Betty - I have started kinder collections many time buts luckily as I don't eat them very often (once a year maybe), my collections never get too big

Oh no!!! You ran over the horsey! And Mr. Bill was an animated "Saturday Night Live" character who would get usually get squished at the end of each episode.

YES!!! Kinder Eggs! I love them! I have a friend in Calgary who used to send those to me every year. My nieces loved opening them. Well, so did the hubby too. So fun. Thanks for reposting.

I actually just read in the paper that these are banned in the US, although several places do carry them unknowingly. They were banned because the toys are so small that little children were choking on them...

I love Kinder Surprise - I got them all the time when I lived in Turkey, but haven't seen them here. Thanks for the fun memory.

I made the artichoke panzanella this weekend (having made the artichokes and the dressing the day before) - it was a huge hit! And now that is the way I will be preparing artichokes for everything (I can't wait to make a yummy frittata or something with them!)

Thanks so much, Sarah (the one who asked last week about making things ahead)

Very cute. Growing up, we lived in England for a few years and I remember those. I've managed to find a few places here that carry them too. Hope you had a good holiday.

Too funny! My coolest Kinder surprise was a hippo dressed as Chewbacca from the 'Hippo Star Wars' series of toys. I think they still sell the eggs at Dittmer's in Mt. View.
