Reflection
Remembering 9.11

I don't much feel like writing about food on such a sad day. Instead I have been reflecting on the stories of some fellow bloggers...
Jeff, from C is for Cooking, lost his fiance in the attack on the World Trade Center.
Jessica from Ripe London had just boarded a plane at Newark when the attacks happened. They took off regardless and she remembers seeing the billowing smoke from her vantage point in the sky.
The Sartorialist, recounts the experience of a New Yorker, living on the Island of Manhattan.
Parisian, Clotilde from Chocolate and Zucchini was in a plane, crossing the Atlantic, attempting to return to the Bay Area, when the attacks happened.
New Yorker, Ann, at A Chicken in Every Granny Cart shares a photograph of New York, taken from inside a plane.
Anna, from Morsels & Musings in Sydney tries to make sense of her feelings from the points of view of an American, an Australian and a Westerner.
In Washington, Jennifer from Pie is the New Toast pays tribute to fallen firefighter, Brian McAleese.
Rick at Lyke to Drink remembers Windows on the World.
Jason Perlow from Off the Broiler reports on a new restaurant founded by some of the survivors.

PS Thanks to Christine who after reading this post, and appreciating the fact I am a Brit in America, sent me a link to the blog of Andrew Sullivan where you can see a video of the The Buckingham Palace Band playing The Star Spangled Banner.
