Cooking Not Computing

Away from the Keyboard and Into the Kitchen...

Are you keeping your New Year's Resolutions? So far I am keeping up with mine pretty well - I managed to cross another 'must do' off my list by cooking a dinner with Amanda Berne, one-time San Francisco Chronicle Restaurant critic and currently a Senior Editor at Publishers, 10 Speed Press. Above is a copy of the menu we worked from. Come back tomorrow to see how we got on in the kitchen together.

PS - I hope Amanda doesn't think that's the end of it. I am immediately instigating another resolution to repeat that experience again. (And again).

    Samanda- That's cute!

Noting the wine pairing with most of the courses... hope your under the influence note taking skills are better than mine :)

Make sure the menu gets removed from the fridge before the guests arrive. It reminds me of the time my partner pre-prepared ingredients for an 8 course chinese meal being cooked to impress the boss! All stored in plastic containers in the fridge, labeled and stacked in order of use for each course! The recipes were also prepared with each one printed and discretely located out of sight in the kitchen. Good luck for tomorrow night.

  6. Beccy CHris Scott and Barbara - I warn you- you'll get hungry looking at it

Mcauliflower - it didn't note the wine pairing with the cooking though, I think we'd finished two bottles of bubbly before the guests arrived

tim - to the contrary - each guest had a menu waiting at their place setting. thanks for the good wishes
