Overwhelmed by all of your good wishes for a speedy recovery, Fred has gotten much, much better. We are really touched by all of the messages you left on Saturday's post, thank you all so much. Thanks also to our gracious host in Rive Gauche, just on the outskirts of Paris, who not only kindly let us stay a few extra days but arrived back from a weekend in Belgium bearing delicious, comforting waterzooi, red wine and French cheeses. As we hadn't eaten properly for two days her gracious return was more than appreciated, believe me. Fred wanted to leave a few words of his own:
"I would like to thank you everybody for their kind, touching support and I am happy to say that I now feel really much better and happy to fly home tomorrow after a really nice trip across parts of Europe. Thank you very much everybody. Sincerely, Fred."
Oh, I'm so glad to hear that Fred is perking up and that you will be able to head home tomorrow. At least this happened at the end of your holiday rather than the start and hopefully hasn't marred your happy memories too much. Sam - make sure you take extra care of Fred now - extra lashings of chicken soup all round! (and do remember to eat that biltong before you get to the US customs... rumour has it that they aren't too keen on it ;-))
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that Fred is doing better. What a horrible thign to have ahppen away from home!
ReplyDeleteBe well and glad that all is better!
Just got back from the weekend to see this. My wishes for a speedy recovery no longer seem needed, thankfully, so I'll just say I'm so happy Fred is feeling better!
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear Fred is better and ready to go back to your home! Tell him to take it easy though...
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear Fred is better. Be careful with the waterzooi, that stuff sounds more charming than it is.
ReplyDeleteBorscht is the answer to all physical ailments. I once saved someone's life by feeding them borscht made with a deer meat bouillion. My borshct was the last thing my Grams ate before she died... but I don't think it was the borscht that did her in, rather a serious case of old age.
Whew! I'm so glad to hear it! Thanks for the update, and I hope you have a smooth flight home.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear he's doing better. Have a safe and restful trip back! And hey, maybe if you tell your story to the person at checkin they'll bump you up to first class (for theraputic reasons, obviously!)...
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear that Fred is feeling better - have a safe journey back to CA and don't work too hard!
ReplyDeleteEeek, I step away for a few days and look what happens!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear life is on the upswing. Make sure Fred has scotch handy, he really likes it. It'll make him smile. Say hi to him for me, bye!
