David Coffaro 1998 Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley

David Coffaro 1998 Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley, Estate bottled, unfiltered, unfined.

F and I have decided we must start paying better attention to wine that we really like. Someone, (I suspect it was K), left this bottle at our house and we cracked it open the other night. It was very very good. We decided to make a note of it. So here it is, our first wine recommendation.

But scrapbooks are so passe in this paperless digital world!
Plus think of all the time that can be wasted trying to get a lable off a bottle without tearing it.
I am not suprised the queer eye guys have nothing better to do than soak their used wine bottles in warm water then peg out the lables on the washing line to dry.
    How very twee.

  2. love your posts on chowhound so followed a link here and saw this about cofaro -highly recommend a visit to the winery to meet david and his wife pat, if you have not done so already. they are open weekends or by appt (even if their website doesn't say so...it's a licensing thing) and david will do a barrel tasting in his airplane hangar-esque "tasting room and cellar". he is just awesome. may even be booming some good tunes on his unbelievable sound system!

  3. wow - thanks for the tip. that sounds like a good excuse to visit wine country. especially as Fred is crazy obsessed with sound systems, I mean really obsessed. Maybe they could compare notes on sound and wine. I'll look into it, thank you.
